The brand new GreenHeart smartphone 'Aspen' comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen and Windows Mobile 6.5.3. Live pics and more details in our preview, right after the break.

After Elm and Hazel, the Sony Ericsson Aspen is the new member of the GreenHeart family. Sony Ericsson targets the phone to "consumers or companies who want to make a green choice in their daily work life". The smartphone features a 2.4 inches resistive touchscreen, a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2MP camera and the latest Windows Mobile Version 6.3.5. Here a full list with the most important features:
  • Size: 117 x 60 x 12.45 mm
  • Weight: 130 grams
  • Memory card support: SanDisk microSD™, up to 16 GB
  • Operating system: Windows Mobile® 6.5.3
  • Battery capacity: 1500 mAh
  • 65,536 colour TFT display
  • 2.4 inches
  • 240 x 320 pixels (QVGA)
  • 3.5 mm audio jack
  • A-GPS
  • Micro USB connector
  • age support
  • USB support
  • Wi-Fi™
  • Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync®
  • Handwriting recognition
  • Microsoft Office® Mobile
  • 3D games
  • Facebook™
  • FM radio with RDS
  • Java™
  • Skype™
  • YouTube™

So, what's new in Windows Mobile 6.5.3? In general, the UI has become a bit more finger friendly compared to 6.5, i.e. bigger icons, dropdown entries etc. Sony Ericsson's custom addition, the SlideView, is already known from the Xperia X2. It provides quick access to messaging, media player, calendar and - as a novelty - Facebook contact information such as comments and posts.

The full featured QWERTY keyboard provides an OK haptic feedback, however the surface of the keys are a little bit too slippery. The device itself feels comfortable in your hands.

The Sony Ericsson Aspen will be available in two colors (Iconic Black and White Silver) from Q2 2010.
